2023 Aero India
Aero India 2023, an air show put on by the Defense Ministry’s Department of Defence Production, was recently opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It took place in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The event had participation from around 32 defence ministers. There were 251 Memorandums of Understanding signed, totaling Rs 75,000 crores.

The event featured 809 Indian and foreign companies. This is the 14th edition. Once every two years, the show is conducted. The event is held every year at the Yelanhanka Air Base in Bengaluru. At different times, different government agencies are in charge of hosting the show. For example, in 2021, the show was hosted by DRDO.
Highlights of the 2023 Aero India Air Show
The DRDO’s Tapas-BH had its debut in the show. Tapas is an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. It fulfils the Indian military’s ISTAR requirements. Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance is referred to as ISTAR. Up to 28,000 feet, it can operate.
United States at Aero India 2023
Lockheed Martin is a company based in the United States. At the show, the company also showcased its defence capabilities. This is being done to inform the IAF of the most cutting-edge defence capabilities offered by the company, including the F-21 fighter jet, MH-60R helicopter, C-130 cargo plane, etc. The Sea Hawk Helicopter was recently purchased by the Indian Navy from the company. In addition to the US, more than 80 other countries took part in the performance.
Vintage DAKOTA also performed at the show.
Sarang Helicopters, Tejas, Rafale, Sukhoi-30 MKI, and Jaguar were among the jaw-dropping displays put on by the Indian Air Force.

What is the entry fee for Aero India 2023?
General visitor tickets, which allow the public into the exhibitions as well as the air display viewing area, cost Rs 2,500 each for Indian visitors and $50 (Rs 4,137 approximately) for foreign visitors. With general tickets, you can visit Aero India 2023 only on February 16 and 17.
Air Display Viewing area permits, for February 14 to February 17, cost Rs 1,000 each. The price is again $50 for foreigners.
Business tickets, for entering the exhibition area from February 13 to February 15, are priced at Rs 5,000 for Indians and $150 (Rs 12,413) for foreigners.
Which countries are participating in Aero India 2023?
The Aero India 2023 event, organised at Air Force Station, Yelahanka, will see participation by 98 countries. Defence ministers of 32 countries, Air Chiefs of 29 countries, and 73 CEOs of global and Indian OEMs will attend the event.
As many as 809 defence companies, including MSMEs and start-ups, will showcase their technologies and capabilities during the aero show. Around 5 lakh visitors are expected to attend the event.
