d) Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises

The Government launched UAP under the MSME formalization project on 11.01.2023 to bring Informal Micro Enterprises (IMEs) under the formal ambit for availing benefits under Priority Sector Lending.
· The platform has been developed by the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).

· The Government of India has clarified that IMEs are those enterprises which are unable to get registered on the Udyam Registration Portal (URP) due to lack of mandatory required documents such as Permanent Account Number (PAN) or Goods and Services Tax Identification Number (GSTIN).

Benefits:

· A large number of IMEs aren’t registered under GST. To facilitate such IMEs to get a registration certificate through Assist mode of Designated Agencies (Das) such as banks/ NBFCs/MFIs, who have information about IMEs available with them.

· The certificate issued on the Udyam Assist Platform (UAP) would be treated at par with Udyam Registration Certificate for IMEs for availing of the benefits of Priority Sector Lending (PSL).

Implementation Process:

· Registration of DAs, who are eligible regulated entities to assist IMEs for generation of Udyam Registration in the UAP.

· Registration of IMEs by the DAs. IMEs are not required to share any documents for registration with DAs separately.

· DAs have to share the required information as available with them of IMEs on UAP.

· The registered IMEs can then download their certificate from UAP.

· The Udyam Registration Number (URN) generated for enterprises via UAP is of an exclusive number series called the Udyam-I

As per latest data, the government’s new Udyam Assist Platform (UAP) has 35 lakh units registered as of August 3, 2023.

d) Ministry of Home Affairs

The Ministry of Home Affairs has recently introduced a fresh visa category named “Ayush Visa” to cater to foreign nationals seeking medical treatment, including therapeutic care, wellness, and yoga in India.
The Ayush Visa has been introduced to address the requirement for a dedicated visa program for foreign visitors seeking treatment under Ayush systems or Indian medicine.

c) President of India

The Supreme Court said that the President of India retains power to scrap Article 370, after Constituent Assembly dissolved in 1957.
Clause (3) of Article 370 gave the President power to notify the Article inoperative or modify it. But a provision had made it necessary that such a move would have to be recommended by the Jammu and Kashmir Constituent Assembly.

a) Sixth

India has secured the sixth position in the South Asian region with an overall score of 43 per cent in the Internet Resilience Index. Countries like Bhutan (58 percent), Bangladesh (51 percent), Maldives (50 percent), Sri Lanka (47 percent) and Nepal (43 percent) are ahead of India in this ranking. This ranking has been prepared by the Internet Society.

a) Bihar

Bihar’s caste-based survey resumed a day after the Patna High Court allowed the State government to continue with it.
The Patna High Court has dismissed all petitions filed against the decision of the Bihar Government to conduct a caste-based survey. The survey is being conducted at a cost of ₹500 crore, approved by the Cabinet of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
