b) Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala

FRINJEX-23, The first edition of the Joint Military Exercise between the Indian and French Army was conducted at Pangode Military Station in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala on March 7-8, 2023.
• The exercise intends to improve the inter-operability, coordination and cooperation between both forces at the tactical level.
• The theme for the exercise is “Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Operations in a Contested Environment”.
i. For the first time, both the Indian and French Army engaged in the exercise with each contingent comprising a Company Group.
ii. The largest ever contingent was fielded by Thiruvananthapuram based Indian Army troops and FRENCH 6th Light Armoured Brigade.

d) 7th March 2023

The 5th Jan Aushadhi Diwas(Generic Medicine Day) was observed across India on 7th March 2023 with the theme of “Jan Aushadhi-Jan Upyogi”.
i. The Jan Aushadhi Diwas is annually organised by the Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI), under the aegis of the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers(MoC&F) to create awareness about the importance of Generic Medicines and to highlight the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP).
ii. The PMBI organises a week-long celebration – Jan Aushadhi Week (1st to 7th March 2023) across India covering all States and Union Territories(UT).

b) Kerala

Researchers spotted a Mimeusemia ceylonica, rare moth species for the first time in India in Kalakkad–Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu after 127 years.
It was last recorded in Sri Lanka 127 years ago and the findings are based on moth surveys conducted twice a month since 2018. This is the first time this moth species is being recorded in India.

Relation with UN:
· While not a United Nations organization, the Court has a cooperation agreement with the United Nations.

· Members: 123 nations are States Parties to the Rome Statute and recognize the ICC’s authority; the notable exceptions being the US, China, Russia, and India. Hence, statement 3 is correct.

The New Yoke Times recently reported that the Pentagon — United States Ministry Of Defence — is blocking any evidence-sharing with the International Criminal Court (ICC) to punish Russia for the alleged atrocities in Ukraine.

a) Manipur

The five-day Yashang festival began in Manipur on 7 March 2023. This festival is celebrated for five days in the spring (February-March) season starting from the full moon day. This festival is celebrated by the Meetei community who are mainly Hindus. it is also organized at the time of Holi. All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU) has organized a five-day sports meet on the occasion. Yashang festival is considered one of the major festivals of Manipur. The main attraction of this festival is Thabal Chongba, a traditional Manipuri folk dance.
