a) Karnataka

The Dishaank application is implemented by Karnataka for digitisation of all land records (under the Bhoomi project).
The mobile application has been developed under the Karnataka Geographical Information System program of the Karnataka State Remote Sensing Applications Center (KSRSAC). This is expected to bring in transparency and reduce land-related disputes.

c) Madagascar

A “Green Triangle” named after Mahatma Gandhi was jointly inaugurated in Madagascar’s capital Antananarivo, to commemorate India’s 75th year of independence.
The ‘Greening the Area’ meets the objective of the Urban Municipality of Antananarivo to create the maximum green space in the capital city of Madagascar.

India is directly impacted by the crisis in Ukraine vis-a-vis its sunflower oil supplies as 90 per cent of its total sunflower oil imports come from Ukraine and Russia.

Palm oil forms more than 60% of total edible oil imports in India followed by soybean oil and sunflower oil.

b) USA

The United States Senate unanimously passed a law making daylight saving time (DST) permanent. It has scrapped the biannual practice of putting clocks forward and back coinciding with the arrival and departure of winter.
After it is signed into a law, the practice of turning clocks back by an hour to standard time every November will stop and DST (which starts in March) will be in effect all year round.
