a) United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN – SDSN)

Recently, the World Happiness Report 2022 was published by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN-SDSN).
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the World Happiness Report.
The SDSN, launched in 2012, mobilises global scientific and technological expertise to promote practical problem solving for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement.
It was established under the auspices of the United Nations Secretary-General.
The SDSN and the Bertelsmann Stiftung have been publishing the annual Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Index & Dashboards Global Report since 2016.

The fund has been set up jointly by Exim Bank and SIDBI (Small Industries Development Bank of India) which will invest in the fund by way of equity and equity-like products in export-oriented units, in both manufacturing and services sectors. Hence, Statement 2 is incorrect.
It has a corpus of Rs 250 crore with a green shoe option of Rs 250 crore. Hence, Statement 3 is incorrect.

Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yogna (PMFBY):

It is a central-state scheme, introduced in the 2016-17 kharif season. It aims to cushion farmers against crop loss.
The central and state governments pay more than 95% of the premium amount while the farmer bears 1.5-5% of the premium. Hence, statement 1 is not correct.
As extensive usage of technology is used to settle the claims of farmers within a stipulated time period, farmers are required to fill loss reports online which are validated by insurance companies before the compensation amount is paid directly in their accounts.
Prior to 2020, the scheme was mandatory for farmers who availed institutional finance, but that was changed and made voluntary for all farmers. Hence, statement 2 is not correct.

Cyclone Asani is likely to hit the Andaman & Nicobar Islands on March 21st. A low-pressure area. which was formed on March 15, is expected to move east-northeastwards. After hitting Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Cyclone Asani is expected to move towards Myanmar and Bangladesh.

What can synthetic biology do?

Microorganisms harnessed for bioremediation to clean pollutants from our water, soil and air.
Rice modified to produce beta-carotene, a nutrient usually associated with carrots, that prevents vitamin A deficiency.
Yeast engineered to produce rose oil as an eco-friendly and sustainable substitute for real roses that perfumers use to make luxury scents.
