c) Cough Syrup

India’s drug regulatory authority has planned to issue a warning about the potential risks associated with Pholcodine-containing cough and cold remedies due to concerns of life-threatening allergic reactions.
Pholcodine, an opioid cough suppressant found in certain cough medications, has sedative effects and is used to alleviate dry coughs.

a) Tamil Nadu

NITI Aayog has recently released the Export Preparedness Index 2022. This time Tamil Nadu has achieved the top rank by leaving behind Maharashtra and Gujarat. The Export Preparedness Index evaluates a state’s preparedness based on its export potential and performance. Tamil Nadu topped with a score of 80.89 while Maharashtra with a score of 78.20 and Karnataka (76.36) came third.

b) Light nuclei combining

The fusion reaction happens when two light nuclei merge to form a single heavier nucleus. Because the total mass of that single nucleus is less than the mass of the two original nuclei, the leftover mass is energy that is released in the process, according to the Department of Energy. In the case of the sun, its intense heat — millions of degrees Celsius — and the pressure exerted by its gravity allow atoms that would otherwise repel each other to fuse.

b) OECD

According to the OECD’s 2023 Employment Outlook, there is currently limited evidence of notable adverse impacts on employment resulting from AI.
The report highlighted that despite the current low adoption rate of AI, the combination of swift advancements, decreasing costs, and the growing pool of skilled AI professionals suggests that OECD economies could be on the verge of an imminent AI revolution.

d) Tripura

Ker Puja, a Hindu festival, occurs a fortnight following Kharchi Puja and pays tribute to Ker, a protective deity. It is mainly observed in Tripura.
It is a century old traditional festival. The area around the royal palace has been notified for Ker Puja, where the rituals are held uninterrupted for more than 30 years.
