d) Rocket booster

The HS200 is the human-rated version of the S200 rocket booster of satellite launch vehicle GSLV Mk III, popularly known as LVM3.The HS200 is a 20-metre-long booster with a diameter of 3.2 metres and is the world’s second largest operational booster using solid propellants. The booster engine is part of the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle MkIII (GSLV Mk III) rocket that will carry Indian astronauts to space.

Among the Outer Space Treaty’s main points are that it prohibits the placing of nuclear weapons in space, limits the use of the Moon and all other celestial bodies to peaceful purposes only, and establishes that space shall be free for exploration and use by all nations, but that no nation may claim sovereignty of outer space or any celestial body.

The treaty, however, does not prohibit the launching of ballistic missiles, which could be armed with weapon of mass destruction (WMD) warheads, through space. The treaty repeatedly emphasizes that space is to be used for peaceful purposes.

New Space India Limited (NSIL) is the commercial arm of ISRO with the primary responsibility of enabling Indian industries to take up high technology space related activities.
Antrix Corporation Limited (ACL) is a wholly owned Government of India Company and was incorporated as a private limited company owned by Government of India in September 1992 as a Marketing arm of ISRO.
Antrix will handle ISRO’s commercial deals for satellites and launch vehicles with foreign customers. Hence statement 1 is not correct.
NSIL will deal with capacity building of local industry for space manufacturing. Hence statement 2 is not correct.

b) Institute for Competitiveness

The State of Inequality in India Report was released by Dr Bibek Debroy, Chairman, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM).
It has been prepared by the Institute for Competitiveness with information on inequities across sectors of health, education, household characteristics and the labour market. As per the report, while earnings have risen over the years, the benefits of that growth have largely remained concentrated and this has marginalised the poor further.

d) Nikhat Zareen

Indian boxer Nikhat Zareen won the gold medal in the 52kg category at the Women’s World Boxing Championship 2022. She beat Thailand’s Jitpong Jutamas in the fly-weight final in Istanbul, Turkey on May 19, 2022. Nikhat has become the only fifth Indian women’s boxer after Mary Kom, Sarita Devi, Jenny RL and Lekha KC to win a gold at the World Championships.
