d) Dragonfly

Dragonfly enthusiasts have recorded the presence of a rare dragonfly that was hitherto unseen in Kerala. The new species can be separated from its congeners by the markings on the lateral thorax and peculiar shape of anal appendages. This species is known to be endemic to the Western Ghats. It was discovered in Maharashtra earlier this year.

c) Mongolia

The Multinational Peacekeeping Exercise “Ex Khaan Quest -2022” was conducted at Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia.
The exercise provided a platform for mutual learning and sharing best practices amongst the armies from 16 Nations. The Indian contingent consisting of personnel from the Ladakh Scouts participated in the exercise. Mock tactical operations as per United Nations (UN) mandate among other exercise were held.

b) Mysuru

Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the eighth International Day of Yoga (IDY) celebrations in Karnataka’s Mysuru. The theme of this year’s Yoga Day celebrations is ‘Yoga for Humanity’.
Over 25 crore people across the world took part in various events and doing yoga in unison. A programme in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs has also been organised for a mass Yoga Protocol around the world on the day following the movement of the sun.

National Chambal Sanctuary, also called the National Chambal Gharial Wildlife Sanctuary, is a tri-state protected area in northern India for the protection of the Critically Endangered gharial, the red-crowned roof turtle and the Endangered Ganges river dolphin. Hence, statement 1 is correct.
Located on the Chambal River near the tripoint of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, it was first declared in Madhya Pradesh in 1978, and now constitutes a long narrow eco-reserve co-administered by the three states. It is part of the Khathiar-Gir dry deciduous forests ecoregion. Hence, statement 2 is correct.

b) Monkeypox

A group of scientists formed against the COVID-19 threat has declared the Monkeypox outbreak as a public health emergency of global concern. The designation of Monkeypox as a public health emergency by WHO indicates that the outbreak is not limited to a single country or the region and should be addressed by immediate actions to prevent community transmission.
