a) Web-based system for processing the pension claims of defence pensioners without any external intermediary.

SPARSH is a web-based system for processing the pension claims and crediting the pension directly into the bank accounts of defence pensioners without any external intermediary.
· It has been designed to give Defence Pensioners a transparent view of their pension account, through an online portal which captures and maintains a complete history of events and entitlements of the pensioner – right from the date of commencement of pension to the date of cessation of pension due to the last eligible beneficiary.

· This system is administered by the Defence Accounts Department through the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pensions), Prayagraj and caters to all the three Services and allied organization.

b) Rs 200

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor, Shaktikanta Das recently launched three key digital payment initiatives at the Global Fintech Fest 2022.
The initiatives include RuPay Credit Card on UPI, UPI LITE, Bharat BillPay Cross-Border Bill Payments. Through UPI Lite on BHIM App, users will be able to make small-value transactions in near-offline mode. The upper limit of a UPI Lite payment transaction will be ₹200. The total limit of the UPI Lite digital payment mode on the wallet on a device would be ₹2,000 at any point in time.

d) South Africa

The Foreign Ministers from Russia, India, China, and Brazil have extended their full support to South Africa for its BRICS Chairship in 2023 and also for holding the 15th summit. BRICS Foreign Ministers held their annual meeting on the margins of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly. They were also briefed on the preparations for South Africa’s Chairship of BRICS in 2023.

c) Anti-Naxal operation by CRPF

Considerable success was achieved in 2022 in Bihar, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh as the CRPF launched Operation Octopus, Operation Double Bull, Operation Thunderstorm and Operation Chakarbandha in the three States. The operations led to the arrest or surrender of 592 Maoists.

Indian IT major Wipro has terminated the services of 300 employees, who were found to be working for its competitors simultaneously.
The act is also called as ‘Moonlighting’. Companies worry that this practice might create a conflict of interests, data breaches, and mis-use of company’s Intellectual Property (IP) and assets.
