The Ol Chiki script, also known as Ol Chemetʼ (Santali: ol ‘writing’, chemet’ ‘learning’), Ol Ciki, Ol, and sometimes as the Santali alphabet invented by Pandit Raghunath Murmu in the year 1925, is the official writing system for Santali, an Austroasiatic language recognized as an official regional language in India. It has 30 letters, the forms of which are intended to evoke natural shapes.

Scientists have discovered the world’s largest known bacterium, first to be visible with the naked eye in the brackish waters of a red mangrove swamp in Guadeloupe in the Lesser Antilles. Guadeloupe, an island group, is a French overseas region. The bacteria named Thiomargarita magnifica is the first that is visible to naked eye and it in the form of white filaments, almost the size of human eyelashes. The giant white bacterium was found lurking on the rotting leaves sunken in the swamp.

a) Tata Play

NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) launched GSAT-24 aboard Ariane 5 rocket, operated by French company Arianespace, from Kourou in French Guiana (South America) on June 23, 2022. GSAT-24 is a 24-Ku band communication satellite with pan-India coverage for meeting DTH application needs. The entire capacity of the satellite weighing 4180 kg has been leased to Direct-to-Home (DTH) service provider Tata Play.

Pattachitra painting is the traditional painting of Odisha and West Bengal. These scroll paintings trace their origin to 12th century. They mainly depict Hindu mythology and are closely related to Jagannath and Vaishnava sect. It was recently in news as Odisha Chief Minister Naveen gave a Pattachitra to Pope Francis in Vatican City as a gift. This pattachitra was created by artist Apindra Swain and his family who belong to craft village of Raghurajpur in Puri district. Raghurajpur is world famous for Pattachitra paintings.
