The central government has announced a single use plastic ban from July 1, 2022. As per the notification by the Union Ministry, the manufacture, sale, import, stocking, distribution and use of the following single-use plastic, including the polystyrene and expanded polystyrene, commodities shall be prohibited with the effect from July 1, 2022.

b) Bacteria

The bacteria was discovered in the mangroves of the Guadeloupe archipelago in the Caribbean Named Thiomargarita Magnifica, they live by oxidizing sulfur and are 50 times bigger than any other known bacteria.

Rajsamand Lake (also known as Raja Samudra Lake) is a lake near the town of Rajsamand in the Indian state of Rajasthan.
It was built across the Gomti river which originates from Sewantri, Kelwa and Tali rivers.
It is not a Ramsar Site.
Therefore, option B is correct.

d) Ruth Ozeki

Ruth Ozeki, American-Canadian author, film-maker & Zen Buddhist priest, has won the Women’s Prize for Fiction 2022 for her novel titled “The Book of Form & Emptiness”. 2022 marked the 27th anniversary of the Women’s Prize for Fiction.
i. The award with 30,000 pound (USD 36,000) prize was presented by Mary Ann Sieghart, 2022 Chair of Judges at the award ceremony held in Bedford Square Gardens, London, the United Kingdom(UK) hosted by novelist and Women’s Prize Founder Director, Kate Mosse.

b) UK

A joint India-UK Commonwealth Diplomatic Academy programme was recently announced by the foreign ministers of the UK and India.
It aims to equip diplomats from all Commonwealth member states with expertise and skills required for addressing emerging challenges that have global-level impact. This academy programme will be hosted in New Delhi. This was announced during the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), which was held in Rwanda, East Africa from June 24 to 25.
