Bihar as a part of its land reforms initiative, has introduced the concept of dynamic map for villages, which will get updated every time land ownership changes hands. The move is mainly aimed to curb the legal disputes regarding land.
i. According to the Bihar government,the state has seen almost 37,000 cases of some land dispute since February 2021.
ii. The initiative is also in line with the mandate of Bihar Land Mutation Amendment Bill, 2021 which makes mutation of maps mandatory.

c) Andaman and Nicobar Island

India successfully test fired a surface-to-surface ‘BrahMos’ supersonic cruise missile extended range from Andaman and Nicobar Island. This 290 Km Missile range has a top speed of Mach 2.8 nearly three times the speed of sound and missile range will be extended.

United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD):

UNCTAD is a permanent intergovernmental body established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1964.
It is part of the UN Secretariat. It reports to the UN General Assembly and the Economic and Social Council, but has its own membership, leadership, and budget. It is also a part of the United Nations Development Group.

Objectives and roles:

It supports developing countries to access the benefits of a globalized economy more fairly and effectively. Along with other UN departments and agencies, it also measures the progress made in the Sustainable Development Goals, as set out in Agenda 2030.

Shankhalipi or ‘shell-script‘ is a term used to describe ornate spiral characters assumed to be Brahmi derivatives that look like conch shells or shankhas. They are found on temple pillars, columns and rock surfaces across north-central India and they date to between the 4th and 8th centuries. Hence Statement 1 is correct.
The script was discovered in 1836 on a brass trident in Uttarakhand‘s Barahat by James Prinsep, who was the founding editor of the Journal of the Asiatic Society of Bengal. Hence Statement 2 is incorrect.

‘Sea snot’, a slimy layer of grey or green sludge in the seas, which can cause considerable damage to the marine ecosystem.

‘Sea snot’ is marine mucilage that is formed when algae are overloaded with nutrients as a result of water pollution combined with the effects of climate change. The nutrient overload occurs when algae feast on warm weather caused by global warming. Water pollution adds to the problem.

If unchecked, this can collapse to the bottom and cover the sea floor, causing major damage to the marine ecosystem.
