The World Economic Forum has recently released the Energy Transition Index. India is at 67th position in this ranking. Sweden is at the top of this list. Top 5 countries include Denmark, Norway, Finland and Switzerland. This time a list of 120 countries has been issued. The World Economic Forum is an international non-governmental organization. It was established on 24 January 1971.

c) Submarine cables

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) recommended adding a section in the Indian Telecommunication Bill, 2022, to promote, protect and prioritise submarine cables and cable landing stations (CLS) since they are critical assets.
It also suggested that the operation and maintenance of CLS and submarine cables should be accorded ‘essential services’ status.

a) International Institute for Management Development (IMD)

World Competitiveness Index is a comprehensive annual report and worldwide reference point on the competitiveness of countries. It analyses and ranks countries according to how they manage their competencies to achieve long-term value creation. It is based on 336 competitiveness criteria and four factors, namely Economic performance, Government efficiency, Business efficiency, and Infrastructure. Denmark, Ireland, and Switzerland have been named the top three among 64 economies measured for their global competitiveness. India fell three rungs to finish 40th but is still in a better position than it was between 2019-2021 when it was placed 43rd three years in a row.

The International Institute for Management Development (IMD) published the World Competitiveness Index recently.

c) Nathan Lyon

Australia’s spinner Nathan Lyon has become the first bowler in the world to play 100 consecutive Tests for the national team. He achieved this feat with his inclusion in the playing 11 of the second Ashes Test against England. Talking about the bowlers, till now no player had managed to play 100 Tests continuously. Talking about the players who have played most Tests continuously, former England captain Alastair Cook is on top with 159 matches.

c) Andhra Pradesh

A Mesolithic period rock painting depicting a person tilling a piece of land has been found in Orvakallu village in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.
While surveying the lower River Krishna Valley to ascertain the architectural features of shrines, researchers identified a new prehistoric rock painting on the walls and ceiling of natural rock shelters on a hillock at Orvakallu.
