a) World Economic Forum

The Global Gender Gap Report was first published in 2006 by the World Economic Forum. The Global Gender Gap Index is an index designed to measure gender equality. It assesses countries on how well they are dividing their resources and opportunities among their male and female populations, regardless of the overall levels of these resources and opportunities.

The United Nations (UN) observes ‘the International Day against Nuclear Tests’ on August 29.
It aims to raise awareness about the devastating effects of testing nuclear weapons. The event urges world governments to end nuclear proliferation and stop such tests. The first nuclear test called Trinity was conducted by the United States on July 16, 1945.

d) Linthoi Chanambam

Indian Judoka Linthoi Chanambam made history as she won the Gold Medal at the World Cadet Judo Championships 2022 in the women’s 57 kg category in Sarajevo, Bosnia, and Herzegovina. The 16-year-old Chanambam has become the first Indian to win Gold Medal in the world judo championships in any category.
