Ozone, a highly reactive gas, affect people with respiratory ailments and asthma. It is created from reaction of other gases under the influence of sunlight.

Global experience shows that there is usually a trade-off. As particulate pollution is reduced, the problem of nitrogen oxide (NOx) and ozone increases.

Indian Railways has launched “Meri Saheli” initiative for focused action on security of women across all zones.
It was launched with an objective to provide safety and security to lady passengers travelling by trains for their entire journey from the starting station to destination station.

b) PM Shri schools

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan addressed the National Education Ministers’ Conference in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar with a focus on implementation of the new National Educational Policy 2020.
He announced that the Education Ministry is in the process of establishing ‘PM Shri schools’ as the laboratory of NEP 2020. The schools will be fully equipped to prepare students for the future.

c) Turkey

Turkey New Name: Turkey will now be officially known as Turkiye at the United Nations after it agreed to officially recognise the name change on June 1, 2022 following a request from the Turkish government. Turkey had begun its campaign to rebrand itself in December 2021. One of the key reasons for the image rebrand is the association of the country with the Turkey bird. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had said in December, “Türkiye is the best representation and expression of the Turkish people.”

b) Uttarakhand

India’s first liquid-mirror telescope has been commissioned atop a mountain in the Himalayan region in Uttarakhand. The telescope will help identify transient or variable objects such as asteroids, space debris, supernovae, and gravitational lenses. The telescope is India’s first and Asia’s largest liquid mirror telescope.
