The Geographical Indication Registry has granted the GI tag to the world-famous Banarasi Paan and Banarasi Langda Mango. GI Tag (Geographical Indication) is given to those products which show the geographical identity of that region. An expert Padma Shri Dr Rajinikanth told that with the cooperation of the UP government and NABARD UP, 11 regional products of the state have been given GI tag this year. It is a tag given to locally made or produced products that have a specific geographical origin. Also, it was first introduced in 2003, under which Darjeeling Tea was first given this tag.

c) DRDO and IAF

Reusable Launch Vehicle Autonomous Landing Mission (RLV LEX) was conducted recently by ISRO in collaboration with the DRDO and IAF.
It involved Indian Air Force Chinook helicopter lifting off a winged body to an altitude of 4.5 km and freeing it to execute an independent landing on a runway.

d) Goa

About Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary:

· It is situated in the Sanguem Taluka in Eastern Goa.

· River Netravali or Neturli originates in this sanctuary which is an important tributary of the Zuari River.

· To the north of the Netravali wildlife sanctuary lie the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary lies to its

· It has two all-season waterfalls, namely Savri and Mainapi.

· Flora: The forest is a predominantly moist deciduous type with patches of semi-evergreen forest in the valleys. The high-altitude areas in the hills have natural grassy patches that provide ideal habitat for the herbivorous population.

· Fauna: Indian gaur, spotted deer, sambar deer, barking deer, wild boar, and black-faced langur. the Great Pied Hornbills, Black Panther, Slender Loris and the Giant Squirrel.

A black panther recently rescued from a village in Goa is healthy and it will be released into the Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary.

c) Chile

Salar de Atacama is Chile’s largest salt flat. Much of the country’s lithium deposits are found in this region.
Chile is planning to collaborate with India to tap into the lithium value chain. The copper-producing nation- Chile, holds the world’s largest known lithium reserves.

HydroSOS is a global operational mechanism of World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) for hydrological data.
· HydroSOS integrates hydrological status assessments and outlooks from, and for National Hydrological Services (NHS). Hence, statement 1 is correct.

It aims to provide an operational system capable of assessing the current hydrological status and its likely near-future outlook for all areas of the globe.
· The system offers simple, accessible hydrological information to users such as government bodies, UN bodies, aid agencies, and the general public.

· It provides hydrological products to National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) for its informed decision-making. Hence, statement 2 is correct.
