a) Andhra Pradesh

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated the 13 new districts of Andhra Pradesh on April 4, 2022. Andhra Pradesh now has 26 districts, double than the earlier number of 13. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister had promised the creation of new districts before the Assembly election in 2019 if YSRCP came to power.

b) Sustainable Shipping beyond Covid-19

India recently celebrated the 59th National Maritime Day which falls on April 5 every year. This year’s theme is ‘Sustainable Shipping beyond Covid-19’.
The first anniversary of the day was held in 1964 to raise awareness about international trade and economy. An award ceremony is held to honour those who made important contributions to the Indian maritime industry.

Viktor Orban was re-elected Prime Minister of Hungary for the fourth time in a row, in the General Election of 2022. His nationalist ruling Fidesz party has defeated the opposition, the United for Hungary party (a six-party opposition bloc), led by Peter Marki-Zay.

Under the scheme, the state government will provide a loan guarantee of Rs 1 lakh – Rs 50 lakh for self-employment with subsidies on the interest rates.
