a) Manisha

Indian wrestlers won three medals at the UWW Ranking Series event in Bishkek, with Manisha winning the gold, Ritika the silver and Sarita Mor the bronze. India has won four medals including 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze in this competition. Manisha won the gold medal after winning four matches in four rounds. United World Wrestling is the international governing body for the sport of wrestling.

d) WHA

The WHA recently decided to set up the Global Alliance for Drowning Prevention. Its purpose is to prevent drowning worldwide.
This is the first alliance to address global public health concerns on the issue until 2029. The resolution asked member states to study national drowning scenarios within each country and implement policies and programmes to reduce risks.

c) Sri Lanka

Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal flagged off India’s first international cruise ship – MV Empress from Chennai to Sri Lanka. Along with this, International Cruise Tourism Terminal has also been started in Chennai at a cost of Rs 17.21 crore. Which is the beginning of a new era of cruise tourism in the country. On this occasion, Union Minister Sonowal along with the port officials also planted 2,500 saplings at the port.

d) Insurance

Bima Sugam
· It is a one-stop online portal for all insurance related queries, policy purchase, claim settlement and insurance advice.

· Web aggregators, brokers, insurance agents, bank agents, etc would act as facilitators on this platform for selling insurance policies.

· The portal would provide all such facilities to policyholders having an e-insurance account (E-IA).

Bima Vahak

· It is another initiative by the IRDAI to reach the last mile.

· It refers to a dedicated distribution channel to reach out to every Gram Panchayat.

· Each Gram Panchayat would have a ‘Bima Vahak’ who would be tasked to sell and service simple parametric bundled insurance products.

· Bima Vahak intends to form a women-centric insurance distribution channel.

Bima Vistaar

· It will target the untapped geographies and provide a social safety net for rural population.

· It aims to develop and suggest an affordable, accessible, and comprehensive cover for the rural population.

IRDAI has set up a 24-member committee to synergise Bima Vahak, Bima Vistaar and the digital platform – Bima Sugam.

a) NCTE

The National Mission for Mentoring (NMM) is an initiative aimed at creating a pool of outstanding professionals willing to provide mentoring for school teachers and promote their professional development.
National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) launched NMM in Pilot mode in selected 30 Central Schools across the country. As part of this initiative, the NCTE organized a capacity building workshop for 60 mentors.
