a) Ministry of Science and Technology

National Initiative For Developing And Harnessing Innovations (NIDHI) is an end-to-end plan for startups to double the number of incubators and startups in the duration of five years.
· The NIDHI Program, initiated by the Department of Science & Technology (DST) in 2016, aims to foster innovation and startup culture in India.

Objectives

· Promote S&T-based entrepreneurship and startup ecosystem across the country

· Nurture start-ups through scouting, supporting, and scaling innovations

Components

· NIDHI-Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR): Inspires graduating students to pursue entrepreneurship through fellowships

· NIDHI-Promotion and Acceleration of Young and Aspiring Technology Entrepreneurs (PRAYAS): Supports innovators and startups from Idea to Prototype stage

· NIDHI-Inclusive-Technology Business Incubator (iTBI): Expands incubation programs to various geographies and genders

· NIDHI-Technology Business Incubator (TBI): Supports and nurtures knowledge-driven innovative start-ups

· NIDHI-Seed Support Program (SSP): Provides early-stage funding to promising start-ups

· NIDHI-Center of Excellence (CoE): Creates a world-class facility to help startups go global

· NIDHI-Accelerator: Accelerates startups through focused interventions

c) Madhya Pradesh

Over 13.13 lakh girls and women went missing in the country between 2019 and 2021, with Madhya Pradesh reporting the highest cases at nearly two lakhs, followed by West Bengal.
The data, which was presented by the Union Ministry of Home Ministry (MHA), revealed that 10,61,648 women above 18 years and 2,51,430 girls below that age went missing between 2019 and 2021 across the country. The data was compiled by the National Crime Records Bureau.

b) PFRDA

Pension regulator PFRDA has barred Annuity Service Providers (ASPs) from deploying any agency of intermediaries for sourcing annuities business from NPS subscribers upon their retirement or exit from the NPS.
Annuities under National Pension System (NPS) can be issued by ASPs only under direct channels, as per the official sources.

d) Aditi Swamy

Maharashtra’s 17-year-old Aditi Gopichand Swamy has become the youngest world champion in the individual event in the senior category in archery. She is ranked 30th in women’s compound archery and had won the Junior World Championship title two months back. Aditi’s father is a mathematics teacher in a government school.

National Handloom Day is celebrated every year on 7th August in India. Its objective is to promote the handloom industry. This year the nation is celebrating the 9th National Handloom Day. The day was first organized by the Government of India on August 7, 2015 in Chennai. The Swadeshi movement was started on August 7, 1905 as an important aspect of India’s freedom struggle.
