The 2022 update of the World Health Organization’s air quality database highlights that 99 per cent of the world population breathes air that exceeds WHO air quality limits.
The update also introduces ground measurements of annual mean concentrations of nitrogen dioxide (NO2), which is a common urban pollutant. As of now, over 6,000 cities in 117 countries are monitoring air quality.

d) Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank

The World Bank and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) will provide a loan of Rs 7,500 crore to the government of Gujarat for its ‘Mission School of Excellence project’. The ‘Mission Schools of Excellence’ will be implemented in the next five years at an estimated cost of Rs 10,000 crore.
i. The project aims to improve the quality of education, make infrastructure better and build skills, which would help in generating more employment opportunities among youth across all districts in Gujarat.
ii. The Mission School of Excellence project was launched in 2021, under this, the government of Gujarat will spend Rs 10,000 crore in the next five years and cover all 35,133 government and 5,847 grant-in-aid schools in the state.

The Blue Nile, a subsidiary of the Nile River originates at Lake Tana in Ethiopia and travels through Ethiopia and Sudan.
A shipwreck on the Blue Nile River happened in Sudan’s Sennar province has killed 23 people, all of them female. The Blue Nile is an important transport route for people and goods in the African nations.
