Ministry of Railways has prepared a new policy for modernization of railway stations under ‘Amrit Bharat Station’ scheme. Under this, 508 railway stations across India will be developed as world class stations. PM Modi recently started this scheme. The total cost of this scheme is more than Rs 25,000 crore. These include 55-55 stations in UP and Rajasthan, 49 in Bihar, 44 in Maharashtra, 34 in MP, 25 in Odisha, 22 in Punjab, 21-21 in Gujarat and Telangana, 20 in Jharkhand and 15 in Haryana.

c) Zoological Survey of India

The Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) was established on 1916 to promote survey, exploration and research leading to the advancement in our knowledge of various aspects of exceptionally rich life of the erstwhile ´British Indian Empire´.
· The survey has its genesis in the establishment of the Zoological Section of the Indian Museum at Calcutta in 1875.

Primary Objectives of ZSI includes:

· Taxonomic studies of all faunal components collected.

· Periodic review of the Status of Threatened and Endemic

· Publication of results including Fauna of India and Fauna of States.

Secondary Objectives of ZSI includes:

· Chromosomal Mapping and DNA finger printing.

· Environmental Impact Studies.

· ‘75 Endemic Birds of India’ is a publication released by ZSI.

The publication ‘75 Endemic Birds of India’ was recently released by Zoological Survey of India (ZSI).

a) World Health Organization

A new World Health Organization (WHO) report revealed that over the past 15 years, 71% of the global population, approximately 5.6 billion people, are now protected by at least one of the measures, five times more than in 2007.
The WHO’s MPOWER measures aim to monitor tobacco use and prevention policies, protect people from tobacco smoke, provide assistance to quit tobacco, warn about the dangers of tobacco, enforce bans on tobacco advertising, and raise taxes on tobacco products.

c) Australia

The latest edition of Exercise Malabar will begin in Australian waters from August 11-21, in which navies of the United States, Japan, India and Australia will participate. Australia is going to host the Malabar Exercise for the first time. Malabar Exercise was started in 1992 between India and America. Japan joined this exercise in 2015. After this, from 2020, the Australian Navy also started participating in it.

b) Digital Crop Survey

To improve the collection of sowing data, the government has initiated a pilot project called Digital Crop Survey (DCS) in 12 states starting from the Kharif season of 2023.
The DCS reference application uses technologies like GIS and GPS, and aims to ensure accurate crop area estimation and support farmers with solutions. It has been created as a publicly available open-source and interoperable tool, adhering to open standards.
