a) Consumer grievance redressal

· E-Daakhil portal was launched by National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission (NCDRC) on 7th September, 2020, for online redressal of consumer grievances.
· The e-daakhil portal empowers the consumer and their advocates to file the consumer complaints along with payment of requisite fees online from anywhere for the redressal of their complaints. It also facilitates the consumer commissions to scrutinize the complaints online to accept, reject or forward the complaint to the concerned commission for further processing.

c) Foreign exchange transactions

A vostro account is an essential part of correspondent banking in which a foreign bank acts as an agent providing financial services on behalf of a domestic bank.

Vostro accounts enable domestic banks to provide international banking services to their clients who have global banking needs.

Vostro account services include executing wire transfers, performing foreign exchange transactions, enabling deposits and withdrawals, and expediting international trade.

b) USD 620 billion

India’s external debt rose by 8.2 per cent year-on-year to USD 620.7 billion as of March 2022, as per the Union Finance Ministry’s ‘Status Report on India’s External Debt 2021-22’.
While 53.2 per cent of the debt was denominated in the US dollar, Indian rupee-denominated debt was the second largest, which was estimated at 31.2 per cent. External debt as a ratio to GDP was 19.9 per cent, while reserves to external debt ratio were 97.8 per cent.

d) Bangladesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina jointly unveiled Unit-I of the Maitree Super Thermal Power Project.
The project is being constructed under India’s concessional financing scheme. It will add 1320 MW to Bangladesh’s National Grid. Seven agreements, including on water resources, railways, science and technology, space technology were exchanged between the Prime Ministers.

c) Odisha

The 2023 Men’s Hockey World Cup will be the 15th edition of the Men’s FIH Hockey World Cup which is organized by the International Hockey Federation. The tournament will be held at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar and at the under-construction 20,000-seat Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, India from January 13 to 19, 2023.
